I was thinking that for the clue aspect if the murderer dumps the body in the lake, then we could film the very opening in the bedroom, but with clues that they have been into a lake. Examples of this could be drying hair or clothes hung on the radiator. Costume and props would be key to this.
This is good, maybe we could start with a pan following damp footprints on the carpet like they'd been in the shower, and only through flashback shots do the audience become aware that it was from the lake...
